The Importance of  Guitar Set-up

We as musicians often take guitars for granted; a great guitar (like a good
friend) always seems to be there for us. Like friendships, however, guitars
need to be maintained regularly to operate at their best capabilities. The
importance of a regular guitar set up (think of it as being the equivalent to
your car's every 3000 mile oil change) cannot be overstated; guitars (as
well as all stringed instruments) are a complex system of moving and
stationary parts that need periodic adjustments to be at their best playability
and their SAFEST possible condition. In addition to making your guitar
play better, easier, and IN TUNE, a regular set- up and inspection will
ensure that your guitar is not drying out (a very dangerous condition that
may lead to cracks and other structural problems), and that other crucial
aspects of the instruments' construction are checked and addressed before
they bring on more problems. The repair shop at Front Porch Music is
prepared to make ALL of your stringed instruments perform at their best, in
the hands of a seasoned professional who ensures a quality job on
everything from your $150 campfire special, to your priceless vintage beauty
