| Welcome to Front Porch Music's Web site! Front Porch Music is a picker's paradise located in Valparaiso, IN. (We are about an hour from Chicago) Our specialty is our selection of high quality acoustic guitars. We are authorized dealers for C.F. Martin, Taylor, Larrivée, Yamaha, Seagull, Art & Lutherie. We also carry Deering banjos, Dulcimers, autoharps, mandolins, resonator guitars, banjos, electric guitars and electric basses. We have many accessories (strings, capos, tuners, picks, straps, etc.) and a large selection of books and instructional materials. Looking for CD's? We have hundreds of wonderful releases from local and nationally touring artists & songwriters. The lower level of our store has been converted into a 72 seat coffee house where many fine artists travel to perform concerts and entertain our highly appreciative audiences. We also have an open stage each week. The open stages are on Thursdays and some weekend nights when there isn't another show both starting at 8:00 pm CST. Front Porch music also is home of the most popular (and we feel the best) instructional program in Northwest Indiana. The success of the lesson program is due largely to our 32 very different instructors. Having this number of instructors allows us to customize the lesson to the student. Whatever the style, we've got the teacher. We also have a full service Repair Shop on the top level of our store. Where our repair center can fix anything from small subtle adjustments to major repairs. The concept is complete service. At Front Porch Music you can buy a guitar, have our repair shop set it up to your specifications, learn how to play it by taking weekly lessons, try out your new songs at our open stage, and in time perform your own concert and sell your CD's and tapes. Now that's a picker's paradise! |
